- This article was written for the English Teachers of NSW journal, 'mETAphor'. It is co-authored by Associate Professor Erica Southgate (University of Newcastle) and Imelda Judge (Head English Teacher Macquarie Fields High School). The article is divided into two sections. The first defines and discusses artificial intelligence in education and its implications for school teachers especially in relation to machine learning natural language processing models and the concept of authenticity and authentication in education. The second part gives examples of how English teachers can design curriculum on and with artificial intelligence tools.
